The Sisterhood is a larp by Atropos Studios
Sisterhood is an exploration into toxic feminity, oppressive group dynamics and soft oppression.
Our aim is for the participants to experience a kind of mind control that are in some ways harder to pin point than more explosive and violent dynamics often present in cult-larps.
Instead we hope to create an experience filled with silences, soft voices, warm hugs and suffocating kindness. We want to delve into the dark side of positivity, rest in the lingering moments when you have lost contact with time, and perhaps even your own sense of self.
Why?
We believe that there is a lot to try and deconstruct and explore when it comes to todays political climate.
As TERF rhetoric and transphobia is on the rise and trad-wives are trending on TikTok we sense and increasing longing back to a society where men where men and women were women.
In feminist discourse men and masculinity are still sometimes painted as the enemy. Therefor we believe that it is important that we take a long hard look at the toxic traits of femininity as well, that we need to look at ourselves from every angle in the mirror if we want to be able to support one another in a time where a lot of things are uncertain.
Vision
7 o’ clock and I wake up to the soft ringing of the bell. We have been living in the house for months now. I know every sound of my sisters when they sleep.
We walk gently, like water into to the morning room to greet the day, sun salutation, warrior 2, child’s pose. In the kitchen the coffee is brewing. Mother suggested we should stop drinking coffee, it heightens the testosterone in the body apparently, but so far it has been voted too inhumane. We laugh a lot about that. After breakfast I will keep working on the jewelry we sell in our Etsy shop to support the cause. It is a mindfulness exercise in itself, to string the small beads on the thin string. I breathe with the others. I search for peace but my mind is restless. Perhaps it will will rain today?
